Schinos Seed Powder

The Pistacia lentiscus has one of the most distinctive scents of Cyprus. The Pistacia lentiscus / Mastic tree bush (Σχινιά) can be found all over Cyprus and its seeds/berries are a part of Cypriot cuisine. The most known uses is in the sausages and flatbreads (Schinopites). The oil and the powder has a woody spicy smell and can be used as a garnish, especially in meat dishes or in salads. 

It can add a beautiful purple colour in your bread. A few spoons are enough to make a difference in colour and taste!
