Sage Essential Oil

Botanical name: Salvia fruticosa

Our Sage essential oil was steam distilled in April 2024 from organically grown plants in Maroni and Vouni. 

Sage is native to southern Europe. The Latin word for sage, Salvia derives from the word “salvo" which means “to save” which hints its healing properties.

Besides being a culinary herb, sage has a range of properties. Throughout the ages, sage was being used to relieve respiratory and digestive problems. In addition, sage has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities. Ancient Greeks and Romans were burning sage during ceremonies, believing it would impart wisdom. Sage possess cleansing properties and is used to dispell negative energy and purify environments.
