Schinos Essential Oil

Our Schinos Essential Oil (Pistacia lentiscus) essential oil was steam-distilled from sustainably foraged plants in Kornos. We use the leaves, unripe berries and small batches. Our last batch of Schinos Essential Oil was distilled in summer 2025. We harvest the plants early in the morning, and then chop them into small pieces before distilling for around 5 hours. The yield is quite low, around 0.1%.

The main components of our Schinos Essential Oil are: a-Pinene (43%), b-Pinene (13%), Limonene (6%), b-Phellandrene (5%), Germacrene D (4%), Terpinen-4-ol (2%), para-Cymene (2%), d-Cadinene (2%), b-Caryophellene (2%).

This Essential oil has a sweet, woody smell with balsamic notes. Schinos Essential Oil is known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, cleansing, antiseptic, healing and soothing effects. In traditional medicine it was used to treat skin, respiratory and gastrointestinal problems.

All of our products are made with 100% natural extracts. As nature is diverse, each plant is unique, leading to variations in color and fragrance of our essential oils, seed and nut oils, and extracts.

Caution & Care:

Store in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat. If that is not possible, store in the refrigerator. If properly stored, distilled essential oils have shelf life of up to five years.

- Dilute essential oils before use with a carrier oil or in bathwater.

- Patch test diluted oil on inner arm if you have sensitive skin.

- Avoid contact with eyes; rinse with water if contact occurs.

- Citrus oils can cause skin sensitivity; avoid sun exposure for 12 hours.

- Consult a healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

- Use extreme caution with babies and children; dilute properly and use sparingly.

- Use only in suitable diffusers and avoid prolonged use in poorly ventilated areas.

- Keep out of reach of children and pets; store in a cool, dark place away from fire hazards.
