Cypress Berry Essential Oil

This Essential oil was a sweet woody smell. It has been extracted by distilling the Cypress berries(cones). In the market, Cypress Essential Oil is mostly made by distilling branches.

The Cypress is an evergreen conifer tree, native to the East Mediterranean. Cypress tree is associated with grief and lamentation, often found near burial grounds. In addition, Cypress is associated with the Greek gods Apollo, Artemis and Hades, often found around their temples. In ancient Greece: some wooden representations of the gods called "ξόανα" made from Cypress.

In traditional medicine, cypress tree was used like the other conifers: for respiratory and musculoskeletal problems and antimicrobial properties. Furthermore, cypress was burned as an insence for air purification.
