We are solar-powered!

This week, after a long wait of six months, and several years of back-and-forth on the size and type of solar system (starting from near-scratch after each move), our solar PV system went live, finally! First, we owe a huge thanks (and give a strong recommendation) to Kathryn and Jerald, owners of Elektra Energy )(https://elektraenergycy.com). By mere coincidence, (or perhaps there is no such thing), they live walking distance from our new factory in rural Maroni, and after discussing with them different configurations over 2+ years, we are finally up and running. They are heroes for navigating the changing rules, slow pace and general resistance in dealing with EAC. We can only hope that the policymakers and responsible individuals in the energy in Cyprus understand the issues like Kathryn and Jerald, to fully take advantage of the strategic asset which is Cyprus sunshine, to the benefit of the public and businesses alike. If you're considering installing a system and want a strong technical team that can also help advise you strategically on the right path forward, we can't recommend Kathryn and Jerald more!
The world is facing major challenges and perhaps an entire economic paradigm shift away from a structure supported by cheap energy (that was at the expense of the earth), and it's important for us to walk the walk, while understanding that in a time of transition it's difficult to be either too behind or too ahead and stay alive. Our distillation, for the time being, will still run on LPG. We investigated a boiler system powered by solar energy but it's just not feasible for the smaller size of our units. All of our other machines for production, and climate control (AC, dehumidifiers and fridges/freezers) will be powered by renewable energy. Our next step is to investigate a rain water collection system from our sizable roof.
