Citrus scent is one of the characteristic aromas of Cyprus!
Our Lemon (Citrus limon) Peel Essential Oil has been cold-pressed and not distilled. Because the citrus essential oils are very volatile, heat and steam distillation does not concentrate the full aroma of the citrus peel. Most citrus essential oils on the market are a byproduct of the juice factories. Our cold-pressed Lemon Peel Essential Oil is the main product during this process. Finally, after peeling the fruits and cold-pressing the peels, we juice the citrus fruits and collect the seeds so nothing goes to waste.
Our latest batch of Lemon Peel Essential Oil was produced in late October 2025. We press the lemons when they are still green, but about to turn yellow. This is when their aroma is at its peak, and has a quite sharp bite! Our production process is quite labor intensive, we peel the fruits one-by-one and then press the peels in our expeller. The resulting emulsion is subjected to a multi-step mechanical process to isolate the precious oil. It takes an entire day and a small army of volunteers to produce a few hundred ml of oil!
Lemon Peel Essential Oil has a wide number of uses. It can be diffused to give a clean, fresh scent to a room or space. It can be added to DIY cleaning solutions for an antibacterial effect, and to give a clean lemon aroma. It can also be used in baking in place of the zest, or even to flavor cocktails.
Expressed Citrus Peel Essential Oils are photosensitive, and should be applied to the skin only after careful dilution, while avoiding exposure to sun.
