Kaffir Lime Distilled Essential Oil

Kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix) is a plant that is widely grown in Thailand and known as Makrut. The aromatic Kaffir lime leaves and peels are used as spices for various culinary purposes such as seasoning or preparing savory curry pastes. In Thailand, in traditional medicine, the leaves are used for teeth and gum health and as a remedy for scurvy. The juice has a strong acidic taste. According to a 1868 source, in Ceylon, Kaffir Lime juice was applied to legs and socks to prevent leech bites. This may have led to the alternative name "leech lime."

We get our fruits and leaves from a local farm that exports the leaves. In addition there is excess of fruits which we source and steam-distill.

Distilled Kaffir Lime Essential Oil has more of a lime candy smell. It can be used as a flavouring. Kaffir Lime has antimicrobial and cleansing properties.
