Our Wild Pine Essential Oil (Pinus brutia) was steam distilled from sustainably-harvested pine needles, small branches and cones. Our latest batch of Wild Pine Essential Oil was distilled in November 2025 from trees that were being cleared to create fire roads on Stavrovouni mountain. We collect the material just after it was cut down, feed it through a wood chipper and then distill it for four to five hours. It yields around 0.8% oil.
The main components of our Wild Pine Essential Oil are: b-Pinene (48%), a-Pinene (14%), delta-3-carene (4%), a-Terpineol (4%), Myrcene (3%), beta-Caryophyllene (3%), Germacrene D (2%), Limonene (2%), Terpinolene (2%), and (E)-beta-ocimene (2%).
The Wild Pine in Cyprus is also called Calabrian pine or East Mediterranean Pine. It represents 95% of the pine found in Cyprus.
Pine essential oils are inhaled to assist the respiratory system (doesn’t a pine tree resemble a lung?), and rubbed into the skin (diluted in a carrier oil) for its anti-inflammatory effects on the myoskeletal system. We include it in our Body Wellness oil, a formula inspired by Edgar Cayce.
According to Lea Chapin, (www.leachapin.com), Wild Pine carries the energy of tranquility and embodies fairy energy. It is the chosen oil of the Goddess of Peace, Sarah.
